Subtasks in Nexus

Subtasks help break down large tasks into smaller, manageable parts. They allow for better organization, clear tracking, and efficient time management.

🛠️ What is a Subtask?

A subtask is a smaller task within a main task. It helps divide work among team members and track progress in detail.

🔹 Key Features of Subtasks:

Assigned to a team member
Has three statuses: To Do, In Progress, Done
Tracks time spent and estimated time
Organized in a specific order within the task

📌 How to Create a Subtask

1️⃣ Open a Task: Go to the task where you want to add a subtask.
2️⃣ Click "Add a Subtask" on the left sidebar.
3️⃣ Enter a Title: You can create a subtask quickly by just typing a title.
4️⃣ (Optional) Assign a Member & Estimate Time.

💡 Tip: Adding subtasks helps divide work efficiently!

📌 Changing Subtask Status

  • Click on the subtask title to update its status.
  • The status will cycle through:
🔹 To Do → In Progress → Done

Icons next to the subtask title update automatically based on status.

📌 Important: When the main task is closed, all incomplete subtasks are automatically marked as "Done."

⏳ Subtask Timer: Track Time Easily

  • When a subtask is In Progress, the timer starts automatically.
  • The timer can be started and stopped manually at any time.
  • Time spent is automatically calculated and rounded to the nearest 15 minutes.
  • You can manually adjust the time spent in the subtask settings.
  • The total task time updates based on all subtasks combined.
